By Plane:

We recommend flying to Pisa International Airport which is directly connected to the Pisa Centrale train station. (Flights direct from London/Paris - some very good deals available from Ryanair) Then take a train towards Florence and get off at Pontedera station. (Then take a taxi to Marti.) Florence International is also fine, though crowded and far from the train station. Take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella central train station, catch the train towards Pisa and get off at Pontedera station, and take a taxi to Marti.

By Train:

If you fly to Milano Malpensa, take the shuttle to Milano Centrale Train Station, take the train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (remember that the Eurostar, the fastest train, requires a reservation for weekend travel), catch the connection for Pisa and get off at Pontedera station. (Then take a taxi to Marti.) If you fly to Rome, take the shuttle to Roma Termini Train Station, take the train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (remember that the Eurostar, the fastest train, requires a booking for weekend travel), catch the connection direction Pisa and get off at Pontedera station. (Then take a taxi to Marti.)

By Car:

If you're travelling by car, you can take the A1 to Tuscany from Bologna and Milan in the north, or from Rome and Naples in the south. Take the highway (superstrada FI-PI-LI) from either Florence or Pisa and get off at the Montopoli Valdarno exit. You come down onto a large roundabout and then bear off right (following indications to Marti) driving UNDER the main road you have just left and up the hill. Continue for about 2.5kms passing the more modern part of Marti. When you reach some older buildings and the road narrows, slow down and turn right into a little square. On the right hand side is a green gate. Stop here. Ring the bell of the villa (Villa Majnoni) and we will come out and meet you.
